About

HIST 225: Medieval Europe is an introduction to the Middle Ages. This includes a survey of European history from the breakup of the Roman Empire to the beginnings of the Renaissance. With a particular focus on the Christian, Byzantine, and Muslim Worlds.

One of the major themes of the class is the Crusades. Instead of writing a traditional research paper students will work in groups to produce podcasts on some aspect of the Crusades. Throughout the semester students will learn how podcasts can be used to convey history. In the end each group will produce two podcasts exploring some aspect of the Crusades.
